DISASTER DAY by Tomas W
Its All Ireland final day and I’m still in bed. Yesterday I got a phone call from James Horan. He told me that Darren Coen had pulled his hamstring and I was to replace him on the bench. It was great but now on my big day I cant get out of bed. I can be as stubborn as a mule sometimes. I eventually got up but it was 11:00am. I hadn’t realised! We were supposed to have a light training session at 11:45am before the match. I jumped out of bed and got changed as quick as lightning. As I got up my tracksuit ripped off a piece of wood that was sticking out from my bed but I didn’t realise. I sprinted down the steep flight of stairs in my jocks barely pausing to take a breath. When I arrived in the hotel restaurant everyone laughed at me. I was really confused until Alan Dillon shouted “put some pants on you fool!” I peered down and saw my Peppa Pig jocks! I fainted in horror and whacked my head off a table. Everybody gasped. Blood shot everywhere. It was a horrible sight.
Later on I woke up in the hospital a bandage on my head and the Sam Maguire cup sitting beside me. They must’ve won!
I looked at the trophy and carved carefully at the bottom of the cup said MAYO 2013. They had won! Some doctors strolled into the room and began to question me. Ten minutes later they finally stopped and Chris Barrett and a few other players came in to see me. They had brought a computer with them. At first I was confused but then I saw it. It was a video on Youtube of me in my Peppa Pig jocks! It had already got 9000 views in just three hours! I was an internet sensation for all the wrong reasons!

Mayo Haikus
Mayo are the best
They come from the West
And when they meet Dublin
I think they'll pass the test
Our colours are red and green
We are a super team
A really mean machine
The best you’ve ever seen
Cillian O’Connor is the star
He was our teacher in Castlebar
He really is a trier
He deserves to win Sam Maguire
Mayo’s coming home
With or without the Sam coming
Back to the West, yea!
